To the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann
November 18th in the Small Hall of Moscow conservatory within the concert series season Konstantin Volostnov will present a program that includes all the works of genius of the German Romantic Robert Schumann, whose anniversary the entire music community celebrates this year.
His three organ cycles, written one after another are invaluable contribution to the organ repertoire. Specific orchestral sketches, six lyrical canons with incredible melodic beauty and ingenuity of the spelling, filled with new young breath of romance. And monumental symphony cycle of Six Fugues on the name B-A-C-H (Bach) indicates the deep ties Schumann with his musical roots. No accident that the concert also will feature two of the most «romantic» Preludes and Fugues of the great Johann Sebastian Bach.

Several important developments took place in the concert schedule of Konstantin Volostnov this October.
October 16 four world-class organists including Konstantin Volostnov were invited to play a promotional concert organized by the office of the Canadian International Organ Competition. The concert was attended by the winners of most major international competitions (Frenchman Frédéric Champion - Competition in Canada, the Hungarian Bálint Karosi - Bach Competition in Leipzig and the Canadian Michael Unger - Competition in the Japanese Mosashino). Despite the cost of tickets for the evening concert to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Montréal (more than $ 100), the event drew quite an impressive audience.
Shortly before going to Montreal, Konstantin Volostnov played a recital in front of a panel of examiners, viz: J. Laukvik, L. Lohmann, B. Haas and J. Essl.
This was the concert exam for «Soloist» at the Stuttgart Hochschule fuer Musik (conservatoire of music) and resulted in the highest grade: Pass with DISTINCTION. Throughout all the 25 years of the exam's existence only three other candidates have so distinguished themselves!
